A lot of times the patients are asymptomatic or they present with a lump in their neck.īut other things to look out for is chronic pain in the head and neck area, ear pain that doesn't improve, changes in swallowing, in your voice or speech or breathing and unintentional weight loss. And it basically arises from the lining inside our mouth, our throat, and our voice box. So the most common type of head and neck cancer is this thing called squamous cell carcinoma, or SCC.
